Sporty, friendly, tasty and a bit elegant, the Austrian ski resort attracts skiers from all over the world. No wonder, since Sankt Anton is considered the birthplace of alpine skiing.

It is one of the most beautiful ski areas in Austria. At the exit of the Arlberg tunnel, St. Anton welcomes winter sports enthusiasts eager to follow in the footsteps of European pioneers of alpine skiing.

No hotel superstructures in the small town and its hamlets Sankt Jakob, Sankt Christoph, Stuben, Zürs, Lech but small charming and luxury hotels, apartments and comfortable rooms. The structures which are not directly at the foot of the slopes are served by a free shuttle. Everything is very well organized: next to the Glaubizbahn in the heart of the village, the Albers sports shop offers a deposit for skis and boots to avoid having to bring all the equipment back on the bus. This also allows you to take full advantage of the après-ski, by leaving your ski boots at the depot.

The most important lifts depart directly from the town. The Galzigbahn, unique in the world for its ferris wheel system which lifts the cabins at the start, takes skiers to an altitude of 2,181 m. From there, it is possible to climb even higher, at 2811 m, to Valluga, the queen of the Arlberg, this massif which unites the municipalities of Vorarlberg and Tyrol in a fantastic ski area, renowned throughout the world.

Thanks to the ski links between the various resorts of the Arlberg, the area of St. Anton offers a nice variety of slopes for skiers of all levels. If the clientele is rather sporty, average skiers can also have fun, even if some "blue" sections are more dark blue ... Very beautiful, the long descent to the charming village of Stuben (10 km). Below, a tissue dispenser allows you to wipe your face if you have gone too close to the snow cannons ...

Before going up by the chairlift, be sure to surround yourself with one of the quilted blankets provided: the ascent takes a long time and the blast of the wind can be very cold! To compensate for negative temperatures, other chairlifts have a heated seat ... Everything is done to offer the best possible comfort to skiers. Everywhere, chalets invite you to warm up, eat and party (St. Anton is also famous for its après-ski!). We never get tired of St. Anton !
