In addition to the wine, we love its label, designed by Delphine Frey in tribute to her sister Caroline's commitment to regenerative viticulture. The delicate designs symbolize the alchemy between mineral, plant, and animal, which gives soul and depth to the wines.

Château La Lagune belongs to the Frey family, who also owns Domaines Paul Jaboulet Aîné (Rhône Valley), La Chapelle (Hermitage), and Domaine Caroline Frey, a Burgundy vineyard at the foot of the Corton hill.

Just two kilometers from the Garonne River, stands one of the oldest estates in the Médoc, Château La Lagune. Its history begins in 1525 with the "village of La Lagune", a hamlet that was transformed into a wine-growing estate around 1587. The Chartreuse was subsequently built between 1730 and 1855.
In 1855, the château was distinguished as a 3rd Grand Cru thanks to its unique 110-hectare terroir, which allows it to combine the finesse of Graves and the strength of Médoc, in a subtle and unique combination. The terroir of La Lagune is considered by the geologist René Pijassou as the Médoc island model. On the ridge of La Lagune is planted the traditional Médoc trilogy: 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot, 10% Petit Verdot.

Caroline Frey, oenologist and winemaker, has led the château's destiny since 2004. She is fully invested in the development of the vineyard to reveal the full potential of the wines, while bringing her vision of viticulture.

Committed to preserving the soil and the environment and seeking the most beautiful expression of wines, Caroline Frey converted the entire vineyard to organic farming in 2016. Cultivated biodynamically since then, it obtained the Biodyvin label in 2021, attesting to viticulture that is kind to the vine, the land, people and biodiversity.

La Lagune Castle also includes a vast marshland in which Landes sea cows, an endangered species, roam.
