AMERISSE is a bitter aperitif made from blackcurrant, bitter plants and various fruits. It is produced by the Distillerie Merlet & Fils, internationally recognized for its Crème de Cassis de Saintonge, whose berries it grows locally. Always on the lookout for new experiences, and listening to bartenders for whom bitterness is one of the key flavors, the Merlet family has created a new expression of blackcurrant with this bitter aperitif.

With AMÉRISSE, the family business wanted to sublimate this fruit by combining it with several bitter plants such as gentian, angelica, mugwort and rhubarb to reinforce its natural astringency, and then with other berries and citrus fruits. which increase tenfold its fruity flavors and its complexity. AMERISSE can be enjoyed plain over ice, diluted in sparkling water or to revisit classic cocktails.

AMERISSE, bitter liqueur with blackcurrant, 70 cl, €25 (wine merchants and CHR).
