When the sun fights a dragon, the result gives birth to an exceptional vineyard. At least in Alsace. Brand, which means fire in Alsatian, is the name of one of the three Grand Crus from the Turckheim cellar (Haut-Rhin).

The Grand Cru Brand. In Alsatian its name means fire. On this hill, the sun fought a dragon.

Its granite terroir benefits from exceptional sunshine, a true “land of fire”. It is here that the sun is said to have fought and defeated – a dragon. The battle would have set fire to the forest which occupied the hill. The following spring, the vines appeared, producing majestic and very delicate wines.

The names of the cellar's two other Grand Crus are also evocative.

The Grand Cru Hengst, the stallion, is fiery, renowned since the Middle Ages. The terroir, marl-limestone soil, strongly marks the wines, giving them structure and power. Despite their enthusiasm, the wines are balanced and beautifully fresh.

The third Grand Cru of the cellar, Sommerberg, lives up to its name: hillside of summer. Located on a steep 45° hillside, this place faces south and rises to an altitude of 400 m.

The Grand Cru Sommerberg is a very sunny hillside, as its name suggests.

With vines in Turckheim, Wintzenheim, Niedermorschwihr, Katzenthal and the villages of Val Saint-Grégoire, the Turckheim cellar benefits from a privileged geographical location on the double fault line of the Alsace plain and the Munster valley. In summer, the cellar organizes gourmet walks to meet the winegrowers and the legends who have shaped this terroir.

A geological wealth conducive to the production of a wide range of wines in addition to the three Grands Crus. Traditional Wines, Reserve Wines, Terroir Wines, Grands Crus, Organic Wines, Late Harvests, French Wines, Crémant d'Alsace and Specialties including the very confidential T range, offer vintages for every occasion, every dish and at affordable prices .

Alsace wines accompany a wide range of dishes, such as this prawn and coriander jelly.

The Turckheim cellar was born in 1955. Today, 240 winegrowers are involved in producing quality and rigorous wines. The cooperators' vines flourish on a wide variety of remarkable soils, producing very different wines. Some plots are located on very steep hillsides. All members are HVE 3 certified and several have converted to organic farming.

The Turckheim cellar vineyards cover a wide diversity of soils. Here the Grand Cru Brand.

To go further in its approach to quality and respect for the environment, the winery also practices agroforestry. It plants fruit trees, mainly local and old varieties, in order to maintain the land, preserve and enhance the landscapes.
Without forgetting the technological innovations allowing the best treatment of the grapes and the underground cellar which houses the barrels for the red wines.

The Turckheim cellar forms a new entity, Alliance Alsace, with the King Dagobert cellar in Traenheim (Bas-Rhin). A union which concretizes a long partnership between the two cellars and allows them a better positioning against the competition.
