For three centuries, perseverance and passion have guided the Durou family by making it possible to produce exceptional wines again and again. For several generations, the winegrowers of Château de Gaudou have contributed to the construction and reputation of the Cahors appellation. Their objective: to communicate emotion, conviviality and sharing.

Fabrice Durou: “Previous generations had created a high-quality built and wine-growing heritage for the time. My objective was to bring more thoroughness, attention, precision in order to improve the quality level to leave to other generations, wines that will have marked their times. »

For this cuvée, he wanted “a juice without artifice but produced with all the care and precision to express the unique particularities of the locality…. As we still find wine amphoras scattered throughout the vineyard, we mature them in 400-litre Italian ovoid ceramic vats, choosing to cook the clay moderately porous in order to protect the ripe fruit and at the same time refine limestone tannins. Bottling is done by gravity.

The highlighting of localities is very important to him: "For centuries, the winegrowers of the village have gradually and precisely delimited parcels of vines named and recognized, which differentiates us from most of the wines of the new world. In order to be part of the continuity of this work and enjoying some of the most beautiful localities, I wanted to rediscover them through our native grape variety "Malbec" and to offer you its most beautiful expression. Just a photograph that I try to be as faithful and accurate as possible to the terroir and the vintage for a unique signature. It is a journey and an experience in the discovery of the diversity of the terroirs of the West of Cahors. It is the continuity of the historical segmentation of Cahors wines, a red wine representative of the structured and expressive Cadurcien character”.
