Of great elegance, the Château d'Issan 2020 embodies the quintessence of the Margaux terroir. Chiseled and full-bodie, this 2020 vintage seduces with its gain in complexity and precision. Its fruit aromas remarkably mixed with subtle tannins leave a voluptuous finish in mind.

In march 2020, Château d'Issan extends the historic vineyard of Clos d'Issan with the acquisition of neighboring plots located on the same vein of terroir, near the Gironde estuary.
The Malbec plot is on a magical terroir. Located in the extension of the historic Clos d'Issan, it is rooted in a resurgence of limestone soil from the Eocene. Covered with gravel, the latter is extremely conducive to the good development of this variety originating from the South-West which today represents only 2% of the Bordeaux vineyard.

This young plot stands out among the blend. The integration of this grape variety has revealed an extra soul for the 2020 and 2021 vintages of the Château. The aromatic contribution of Malbec d'Issan is undeniably unique, it constitutes a real binder which ensures this exemplary quality and this complexity.

Pruned according to Médoc tradition, its yield is controlled with 5 bunches per vine in order to moderate its load and respect its balance.

It's perfect for a new impetus for the historic Bordeaux grape variety reintroduced in the heart of the Issan vineyard while waiting to see what Malbec will give on the 2022 vintage.
